Prix d'Amérique : Maharajah is ready for rematch

After a year a little complicated, re-entry in the Prix de Belgique reassured.

Maharajah is back a year after he played opposite Ready Cash in 2011 Prix d'Amérique . And seeing his performance in the Prix de Belgique , one can say that it is ready for the return match!

"I find Maharajah better prepared this year. It has more experience with his stay in France. I saw that Ready Cash has also improved, end that Timoko will be there. (...) But if things go well, if we have a good start and a good place, it will be at the finish."
The comments of Stefan Hultman are those who make up the heat. Even if the horse has a year 2011 half-tone, even if a cold has delayed his arrival in France, it does not come in the Prix d'Amérique to make up the numbers, but to win.
The match looming against Ready Cash , it's been a year that we wait for. January 30, 2011, these two have written one of the most beautiful pages of the greatest trotting race ; January 29th, 2012, everyone hopes to see a new chapter...

If doubts persisted about the level of the horse before his arrival in France, a lot has been raised in the Prix de Belgique .
Hidden in the course, the Swede drew a run-up fighter that was worth all the health bulletins. His effort to track Perlando , Rolling d'Héripré and fourth place impressed all observers that day.
Better:  with a mileage reduction of 1'13 "00, Maharajah signed the second fastest time of the race behind... Ready Cash . Like the good old days.

Only this year, the data will be different. As we know, Maharajah is a horse who likes to train in Vincennes . In 2011, the pack and Ready Cash had left willingly, but this time Timoko and Quif de Villeneuve could dispute his leadership.
The tactical choices of these three could condition the nature of the race. And maybe his outcome. One could well imagine Maharajah take orders at the start, see Timoko tumble to harden the train, before realizing that Quif de Villeneuve was waiting for in their back. Mere speculation of course, but it is the strategic issue for Maharajah if he wants, at the same time, beat Ready Cash and others.

Stefan Hultman  paraît en tout cas des plus confiants. "Maharajah courra exactement de la même façon que dans le Prix de Belgique  : déferré des antérieurs, ferré des postérieurs [la configuration de son meeting 2010-2011, NDLR]. Et il devrait être encore mieux. Si c'est le cas, on sera à l'arrivée. Vous savez, il n'y a pas de marge entre ces chevaux-là."  L'entraîneur suédois sait de quoi il parle : il en est déjà à son 7e Prix d'Amérique . Une expérience qui n'a pas de prix, mais qui n'a pas encore fait mouche. "J'ai eu la chance de pouvoir gagner toutes les plus belles courses, mais il me manque le Prix d'Amérique. C'est la plus difficile, je rêve de la remporter depuis que je suis petit garçon. Mais il faut avoir le bon cheval..."  Maharajah est-il ce champion qu'il attend ? Réponse dimanche prochain vers 15h30.

Stefan Hultman  seems confident. "Maharajah run exactly the same way as in the Prix de Belgique : unshod the previous, hooked the after  [the configuration of its 2010-2011 rally, Ed]. And it should be even better. If so, we will be at the finish. You know, there is no margin between those horses."
The Swedish coach knows what he speaks: he is already in its seventh Prix d'Amérique . An experience that is priceless, but has not yet fly.
"I had the chance to win all the best races, but I miss the Prix d'Amérique . This is the most difficult, I dream of winning it since I was a little boy. But we must have the good horse ..."
